Innovation is the act of introducing something new, or a novelty. Innovation is a kind of creativity, and it is specifically when one thinks creatively about something that already exists. For example, the computer is an innovation that was derived from the type writer. However, innovation differs from Invention in that innovations build upon already existing ideas, while inventions are brand new ideas.
