Copying works or ideas is when a person duplicates information verbatum or nearly verbatum. Copying another's work, published or not, without referencing or citing the original creator, is restricted by copyright and trademark laws. To literally copy, paste, photocopy, faxing, or manufacture is a type of dublicating text or material that closely resembles the original works.
