Lock of Hair

  • In the event that the team cannot pay the goblin with a silver penny, they may pay with their lock of hair. However, using the lock of hair for payment can result in deterioration of the team.
  • Whenever the deteriorating team spins, they must subtract 1 from the spaces that they can possibly move to.
  • They must be able to restore themselves before trying to restore their sister Laura.
  • Restoration can occur by paying back 3 silver pennies to the goblin or giving up one of the fruit cards.

Fruit Card Collection for each team
While on your journey to save your sister, the team must collect all the fruit cards assigned to the team. These fruit cards will help restore Laura before reaching the end. These cards contain the fruit juices Laura will need to kiss.

Laura can only receive the fruit the team has earned in the square marked, “STOP Receive Laura’s kisses.” Here, the team will need to spin and land on the number of fruit cards earned. For example, if a team has 5 fruit cards, they need to spin a 5.

While in the Kisses space, a team can still challenge another team during a word challenges and trade spaces.

  • Each seed bought is the amount of spins allowed. Example: 1 seed = 1 spin
  • The team will spin the spinner and if it lands on 3, 2, or 1, the team has grown one daisy and will receive 2 pennies.
  • If the team lands on a 4, 5, or 6, the seeds have not grown into daisies.

Word challenge:

  • When a team lands on the “Word Challenge” square, they can challenge a team that is further advanced than they are.
  • Pick a card from the “Word Challenge” cards and, while being timed, one of the team members will say the lines from Christina Rossetti’s poem as fast as he or she possibly can. This must be done without jumbling the words. If the words are jumbled, the player must start over with the timer still running.
  • Record the time achieved and the challenged team with go next saying the same lines to beat the other team's time.
  • If the team that is behind wins, they can switch places with the advanced team. If the challenged team wins, they receive 2 pennies from the losing team.

Temptation:

  • If a team lands on a “Temptation” square, they have the choice of spinning the number assigned to the square.
  • If the number in the "Temptation" square is achieved, they team will move forward that number of spaces. However, if the team does not spin that number, they must move back the number of spaces stated on the temptation square.

Kisses for Laura

  • In the area marked "STOP Receive Laura's Kisses," the team needs to have Laura kiss the fruit earned through out the game.
  • The amount of cards earned needs to be the number spun.
    • Example, you have five cards, the team needs to spin a 5. If a team has earned 7 cards, they can spin a 6.
  • Once a team has reached that number, they move on and win! *In this space, an opposing team can still perform a Word Challenge.
