Taylor Whitmer
"Take what you have and run with it" Anonymous

Taylor was born in San Francisco and raised in Redwood City, California. She is a fourth year, double major in Communication and English (with the LCI specialization) at UCSB, and simultaneously, she is working to complete the Leadership Certificate Program. She is particularly involved with her sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta, and she has held two positions: Activities Chair and Vice President of Administration. In addition to her involvement within her own sorority, she has also held the position of Vice President of Recruitment on Panhellenic, the national sorority council. Over the past two years, she has loved working as a writing tutor at CLAS. Last year, she has had an internship at Davies Communications in downtown Santa Barbara, and the past summer, she interned at Blanc & Otus, a public relations agency, in San Francisco.

After graduating, she will attend Stanford's Summer Institute for General Management with other students around the world. Upon completion of the program, she will work as a Business Development Associate for Nelson Bakewell in London in September 2007. She hopes to do some traveling, as well as gaining valuable work experience so that she can one day go back to school and get her MBA.

Outside of work and school, she enjoys her family, friends, and working hard. As for the arts, Georgia O'Keefe, Picasso, Joyce, Van Gogh, and Eliot are among her favorites, as well as contemporary hip-hop, rock, rap, and even (to some of her classmates dismay) country music.
